Center for Teaching Excellence info gathering

Willing to do one on one teaching skills stuff.

Willing to sit in on your teaching session and give you helpful feedback.

Willing to help create lesson plans for things you must teach that are outside your wheelhouse.

Start conversation with them.

Maybe ask Dean Shumway how they can help with enriching TA training and education.

Teaching Committees

Should we talk to CTE first?

Must enquire about availability of Dean and CTE for meetings.

Trustees Meeting Committee

Announce we are working on compendium of achievements.

Will have to discuss with English what they are doing and meet with Dean Shumway to see if we are going forward to the Trustees as a humanities body or as separate departments.

Open committee.

HGSA Conference Proposal

Include digital humanities angles in proposal, but not a digital humanities conference.

Talk to 3CT.

HRC funding deadline October 4. Need to revise proposal to emphasize the connection between HGSA and HRC missions.

Shooting for Rice in-house conference in the spring.

Ask departments for financial support from departments. Possibly $500.

Target date: End of March. 22-23rd. Perhaps the 28th.

Funding: HRC. GSA apply for up to $1000. SAPP apply for max. Dean’s office (last place to go). Needs shows of support from departments first though.

Have proposal draft revised in next 48 hours. Can send Wednesday, September 18 to department chairs.

Kelly to talk to CSWGS.
